Grammy award winner Taylor Swift is a former Montessori student. As a youngster, she attended the Alvernia Montessori School in Wyomissing, PA, located outside of Reading. She attended preschool during the 1994-1995 school year, then kindergarten during the 1995-1996 school year.
Taylor Swift had made a pledge to donate a total of $250,000 to the schools that she attended as a youth. Alvernia was the lucky recipient of $5000 from the famed singer. The Wyomissing school district received a total of $25,000 from her.
As a way of saying thank you, current students at the school decided to send Swift a huge Valentine package. Included are photos of the current students, photos of a young Taylor Swift when she attended the school, a child-created poster, and thank you letters written and signed by the children. School director Sister Ann Marie Coll is also inviting the singer to come back to visit, as they have changed locations since she attended.
