Wake Forest Montessori’s Mallard Ducks
The ducks have finally arrived! The children have spent the last 28 watching the eggs develop. They studied about the duck’s weekly development and candled the eggs to ensure proper development. Based on the incubation period for mallard ducks we assumed that they would hatch on Monday May 11th, but fait had a different plan. Our first duckling emerged at 2:40pm on May 8th. The other ducklings were not far behind! The children were ecstatic about the days events and can’t wait to pick names for each duckling!
